The Old Planters of Beverly
Over the years, we’ve often been asked, “What is Old Planters?” and “What does that name mean?” Some have even wondered if we’re focused on old, used pots for gardening! While we do enjoy gardening, that’s not quite what Old Planters represents to us.
The name “Old Planters” actually has deep roots in the history of Beverly, MA. It was the term given to the founders of our city back in 1635, and we chose it as a tribute to the place where we were born and raised. For us, it symbolizes being firmly rooted in our community—a principle that guides everything we do.Whether we’re collaborating with local businesses like FRANK, Crave, Wandering Soul, Fat Tuna Charters, and Half Baked, or giving back to organizations that support our city like Beverly Hospital and HarborLight Community Partners, our connection to Beverly is at the heart of what we do.
That sense of community extends into our taproom as well. Our space has become a gathering spot for local musicians, artists, and food vendors, and we strive to make everyone feel welcome. We understand that craft breweries can sometimes feel intimidating or exclusive, especially for those who don’t consider themselves “beer experts.” That’s a notion we’re dedicated to changing. We believe beer should be fun and inclusive, and we’re committed to offering a variety of brews that appeal to a wide range of tastes.
At Old Planters, it’s all about community, connection, and good beer—no matter who you are.
